Project 6 Reflection Journal

During project 6 we had to create and demonstrate our skills as web designers, by brainstorming and collaborating to create a yearbook. The time for the project there was 4 people per group and each one had a unique role. My role in my group was the designer. I chose this role because it was the hardest and allowed me to practice even more with my illustrator, Photoshop and In design skills. Our topic for the yearbook was kids in the city or city life, which Is why I chose a 7 train because most kids take the 7 train to come and go to school. Another reason why I put the Black Hawk over the train is because that was the symbol of our school. I made this in illustrator and used the trace option to make it look like it was drawn and more appealing than the original pictures. I also designed all the spreads and put all the pictures and typed all the text into the file because of my teams lack of time management and mine, I took the liberty and took the project home to make it look better than it was. What I've learned during this project is that managing your time wisely is a good thing and you will always have it done on time, instead of having to submit it late. Designers will use and excel at these skills in the future because creating covers and designing backgrounds are the basic things that every designer should know how to do. Gaining this practice now will help me excel in the future with editing or creating my own page.
